Release Notes

Switches are the beating heart of Yetto, the conduits that all data passes through — from messages to metadata. They're what give you automation superpowers in Yetto. They also had a bit of a learning curve.

Key word: had! Starting today, you have all the power of switches with an intuitive graphic UI.

Switches give you the power to automate large components of your support operation, giving your team more time to solve problems and improve your product and your customers' lives. With Yetto, you can write and edit your own switches to trigger events in the app, from labeling or assigning conversations to sending replies and resolving issues. You can even send data to other applications to perform actions outside of Yetto.

In our initial release, Yetto users who wanted to write switches needed to do it the same way we did in our database — with JavaScript Object Notation, JSON. That meant building a JSON configuration with all the events and actions clearly written out. It provided a lot of options for and transparency into what the app would do, which was great. It also meant either knowing JSON, or learning its specific syntax and reading lots of documentation to make sure you were getting the schema right, which was less great.

Well, it's time for an upgrade. Now you'll spend less time learning to build automations — that's our job! — and more time automating to make your team's work easier, like by automatically adding labels to bug reports:

updated Yetto switch user interface

The new switches interface gives you all the power of our previous JSON interface, with all the options you might need. Select from a long list of events to monitor and add as many conditional statements as you want.

updated Yetto switch action interface

You also get access to Yetto's scheduled actions, with all the flexibility you need to keep your operations running smoothly.

updated Yetto switch scheduled action interface

It's all the same power under the hood with a fresh clean look to get you up and running quickly. No JSON required, so take the money and time you'd spend on Udemy and go to a movie.
